Home Bleaching Home Bleaching is relatively simple and can be done from the comfort of your own home! Your initial appointment will take only fifteen minutes for a consultation to explain the procedure and impressions will be taken for the mouthpiece trays. The following week, you will visit the office for a short appointment to pick up your mouthpiece trays, gel, and get your final instructions. After using the bleaching kit for two weeks, Dr. Sonntag would like to check your progress. You should see results gradually with optimal results achieved in two weeks. Please be sure to read your instructions for proper application procedures. The cost of this treatment is $320.00. If just an upper or lower tray is necessary the cost will be $160.00. As time goes by you will need to repeat this procedure, especially for those patients who smoke, drink coffee or tea or are more prone to stains. A touch-up kit may be purchased in our office for only $70.00. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR MOUTHPIECE TRAYS FOR THIS FUTURE USE. (If we need to make new trays, there will be an additional charge.) Please note that bleaching will not alter the color of fillings or crowns; therefore replacement may be necessary. In some cases sensitivity may occur. Simply using baking soda when brushing will help decrease sensitivity. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
